Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to the Answer of 30 May 2018 to Question 146328 on Security Guards: Licensing, what recent assessment he has made of the effectiveness of the performance of the Security Industry Authority in relation to processing licence applications and renewals.

The Home Office receives regular performance reports from the SIA which includes information on the processing of licence applications and renewals.

The Annual Reports and Accounts provide published information on the performance of the SIA. The Department also monitors the SIA’s performance against its published Business Plan, with the 2018/19 Plan available on the SIA website at: https://www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk
