In January 2022, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) conducted an exceptional surveillance review of the guideline for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Following feedback from topic experts and consultation with stakeholders, NICE decided it would not update the guideline and therefore has no current plans to update or review its quality standard. NICE will continue to monitor the evidence base in relation to its COPD guidance.
