Decisions on the prioritisation of funding for public health interventions are taken by local authorities or National Health Service bodies drawing on a range of evidence and advice, including guidance from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and information and advice from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities. The Government’s decisions on priorities include consideration of evidence on impact, delivery, financial costs and overall value for money and the Government’s statutory duties.
