Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, if he will make an estimate of the number of Universal Credit claimants who would be moved into the intensive work search group if the administrative earnings threshold is increased to the equivalent of an individual working (a) 15, (b) 16, (c) 17 and (d) 18 hours per week at the national living wage.

Departmental analysts have estimated that increasing the AET to the equivalent of 15 hours at National Living Wage (and the equivalent 24 hours at National Living Wage for a couple) will bring over 120,000 claimants into the Intensive Work Search regime.
