Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether he plans to reinstate China export licences to (a) Cranswick abattoir in Norfolk and (b) Pilgrim’s UK abattoir in Ashton.

The decision to reinstate the export licences for these abattoirs remains entirely with China. The UK, working with the British Embassy in Beijing, continues to press China at all levels to reinstate the export licences.
