Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment his Department has made of the role of testosterone in maintaining (a) normal metabolic functioning, (b) cognitive functioning, (c) mood, (d) bone and muscle strength, (e) urinary health and (f) reproductive health in women; and whether an assessment has been made of the potential impact of testosterone levels on those factors in (i) menopausal and (ii) post-menopausal women.

No specific assessment has been made. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence is the independent body that develops authoritative, evidence-based guidance for the National Health Service.
