Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to the Regulatory Policy Committee document, Post-implementation reviews outstanding across government 2015 to 2026, updated 12 May 2026, what steps are the (a) department and (b) Food Standards Agency taking to undertake and publish each the outstanding Post Implementation Reviews identified by the Committee.
The Department is fully committed to undertaking its obligations to review regulations after implementation. The Department has taken steps to progress post-implementation reviews identified by the Regulatory Policy Committee as outstanding and will continue work to complete the remaining outstanding post-implementation reviews as soon as possible.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is currently reviewing all its existing domestic legislation to prepare for changes necessary to implement a Sanitary and Phytosanitary agreement with the European Union when it is reached. The FSA is considering how this analysis might enable them to meet their outstanding review obligations in a proportionate way.
