Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how much money his Department has spent on commissioning mental health services to treat patients in (a) prisons and (b) immigration removal centres in each year for which information is available.

Since 2014, NHS England has been responsible for commissioning all health services in prescribed places of detention which include prisons, immigration removal centers, youth offender institutes, secure training centers and secure children’s homes. NHS England does not hold the information in the format requested.
