Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if he will make an assessment of the potential merits of introducing a road toll system to replace vehicle excise licensing in the UK.

Any changes to the tax system are a matter for the Chancellor of the Exchequer to consider. The Department has not had discussions with HM Treasury regarding a system of road tolling.
