Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether her Department has taken steps to claim back VAT paid on hotel accommodation for asylum seekers.
This question was answered on 2nd March 2023
The Home Office doesn’t directly pay for hotels for asylum seekers and therefore doesn’t claim back VAT.
