Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what assessment his Department has made of the impact of rising energy prices on small and medium size enterprises.

The Government recognises this is a worrying time for businesses facing pressures due to increasing energy prices. Ministers and officials continue to provide support for industry, including businesses, by engaging constructively to further understand and mitigate the impacts of high energy prices.

My Rt. Hon. Friend the Secretary of State is in regular contact with the energy industry and Ofgem to manage the impact of high energy prices and will continue to monitor the situation closely, including the impacts on businesses.
