Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what advice his Department provided to the Home Office on the decision to exclude India from the countries that qualified for the recent relaxation of Tier 4 visa requirements for overseas students.

Decisions on changes to the countries included in Appendix H of the Immigration Rules were taken using established HMG criteria which are discussed from time to time among Departments.
