Integrated care systems will be placed on a statutory footing from 1 July 2022 and will bring together a range of health and care organisations in the local area on aims such as tackling health disparities and improving population health. Local Health and Wellbeing Boards will continue to assess the health and care needs of the population in the development of integrated care strategies. Work to devise and implement those strategies and resulting plans will also be supported by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities’ regional teams.
