Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what the timescale is for NICE to review the commissioning report for Kuvan.

Kuvan is being considered in the topic selection process at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and will be discussed by the topic selection group in September. If consensus is reached with all the decision makers, NICE will develop a scope which defines the disease, the patients and the technologies covered by the appraisal and the questions it aims to answer. This will then be subject to consultation in September.
