Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many and what proportion of people in receipt of Universal Credit in York have not had National Insurance credits added to their contributions record as of 6 March 2023.

The Department does not hold data relating to how many people in receipt of Universal Credit have not had National Insurance credits added to their contributions record. However, we are working with HMRC to progress a solution as soon as possible. Once resolved, affected claimants’ records will be corrected and their State Pension will be re-assessed.
