Electric Vehicles: Speed Limits

Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made of the potential merits of increasing the assisted speed limit of electric bikes in the UK to 20mph.

The Department’s position is that the safety disbenefits of doing so would outweigh the potential benefits.
