Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what steps the Government is taking to tackle the increased risk of extensive fire damage in multi-occupancy dwellings constructed from timber.

The Government intends to consult shortly on a clarified version of building regulations fire safety guidance (Approved Document B). The provisions of the regulations and the approved document apply equally to all forms of construction including timber frame.
