Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what is the annual cost of the Defence Investment Unit.
The Defence Investment Plan confirmed that the Ministry of Defence will establish a Defence Investment Unit (DIU) as its centre of expertise for finance and investment, drawing on expertise from across Government and private sector secondees. The Unit will support delivery of the Defence Finance and Investment Strategy (DFIS) and the development of the Defence Investment Roadmap, including work to translate Defence priorities into market-facing propositions.
Funding has been allocated for implementation of the DFIS, which includes support for establishing the DIU. The Unit’s annual running costs will be determined through normal departmental business planning, reflecting its operating model, staffing profile and use of specialist external support.
