Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent discussions he has had with representatives of Virgin Trains on trends in the number of delayed services affecting Coventry train station.
Performance of Virgin Trains services is regularly reviewed at each franchise review meeting.
The most recent four week period reviewed saw 91% of Euston -West Midlands services arriving within 10 minutes of right time, and 85% in respect of the one train per hour serving Euston - Coventry which starts or terminates in Scotland.
The recent hot weather has had an impact on performance which has been experienced across the West Coast Mainline and the Department will be continue to monitor performance with Virgin Trains.
