Organisations in the UK and those based outside the EU which are processing personal data of UK residents for the purposes of providing goods and services must comply with the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. That includes ensuring that people understand what information about them is being processed and why, and respecting their rights to access and erase their data, where appropriate. The Information Commissioner is responsible for regulating the new legislation and may act on complaints about companies which are not complying with the law.
