Spending Review 2025 confirmed £2.3 billion for local transport through the Local Transport Grant (LTG), providing long-term funding for areas outside the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements (CRSTS) and Transport for City Regions (TCR) programmes.

The grant combines £2.2 billion of capital funding over four years with more than £100 million of resource funding, over three years, to support local delivery capacity.

Staffordshire will receive £92,979,000 in capital funding between 2026/27 and 2029/30, and £3,391,000 in resource funding between 2026/27 and 2028/29, enabling it to deliver more ambitious local transport improvements through a simplified, consolidated funding settlement.
