The Home Office provides dispersal accommodation to support asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute. That accommodation is generally available until the asylum application is decided and, or eligibility for support has ceased. Accommodation providers may occasionally relocate people temporarily – for example to repair a property. The number of people formerly housed in dispersal accommodation who are currently awaiting an alternative is not recorded.
