The UK is a global leader in the fight against climate change. Our ambitious agenda is set out in domestic law, and our commitments are more stretching than those that arise from our current obligations under EU law. The UK will maintain these high standards after withdrawal.

We recognise the UK’s and the EU’s shared interest in global action on climate change, and the mutual benefits of a broad agreement on climate change cooperation. The exact details of this will be subject to negotiation.
