Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent progress has been made on Crossrail 2; and if he will make a statement.

The Crossrail 2 project is still in the early design stages and no final decisions have been made on a route, funding, or financing.

We have commissioned the Crossrail 2 Independent Affordability Review to examine ways to make the project more affordable. This review is progressing well, and when we receive its conclusions in the summer, we will discuss these with the Mayor of London and decide on next steps to progress the project.
