Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made of the quantum of change in Crossrail 2 costings since the Crossrail Update report of May 2018.

We have commissioned the Crossrail 2 Independent Affordability Review to ensure that the scheme delivers value for money. The Crossrail 2 cost estimates are under constant review by Transport for London and the Department for Transport to ensure that the scheme reflects the best evidence and learns from other infrastructure projects.

As part of the Crossrail 2 Independent Affordability Review there is a focus on the cost of the project which includes an assessment of value engineering opportunities.
