We have some of the highest standards of animal welfare and the production of foie gras by force feeding is banned in the UK as it is incompatible with our domestic legislation. However, foie gras is produced in some EU member states. Once we leave the European Union, it will be open to government to review the approach to foie gras imports and sales in the UK.
