Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 6 July 2026 to Question 14121 on Electric Vehicles: Manufacturing Industries, what assessment her Department has made of the impact on investor confidence of announcing a review of the Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate before its conclusion.

The Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mandate was designed to be kept under continual review to ensure it remains fit for purpose. The Government has a long-standing commitment to publish a review of the ZEV Mandate in early 2027. This was set out in the Government response to the ZEV Mandate Consultation in October 2023. We intend to conclude the review, which will include a public consultation, in the next six months.
