In the past 12 months, the MCA have made two changes in hourly remuneration:

  • Increasing the rate remunerated to Coastguard Rescue Officers (CROs) effective the 1 October 2025 from £11.44 to £12.21 per hour.
  • Increasing the rate remunerated to Station Officers (SOs) effective the 1 October 2025 from £13.76 to £14.68 per hour.

Station Officers are Coastguard Rescue Officers who undertake additional activities as part of the response by Coastguard Rescue Teams and receive enhanced remuneration.
