Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what representations his Department has made to the Office for National Statistics on their work on considering alternative treatments for student loans in the national accounts.

National accounts classification decisions are the responsibility of the independent ONS, following international accounting standards. The Treasury assist the ONS in collating information that is pertinent to their decisions.
