Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, with reference to his Department's press release entitled New Chair of the Social Mobility Commission recommended, published by his Department on 23 May 2018 on Social Mobility Commission: Public Appointments, what the timetable is for the appointment process for the remaining Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commissioners.

The recruitment of new Commissioners for the Social Mobility Commission is underway after applications closed on 25 July. Interviews are intended to take place in late September. This is a public appointment, and the process, including the interviews, will be completed following the procedures set out in the Governance Code for Public Appointments.
