Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what information his Department holds on the number of Hamas-led rocket attacks against Israel there have been in each of the last twelve months.

Between 1 September 2017 and 31 July 2018 according to figures provided by Israeli security agencies, 160 rocket launching attacks were conducted from Gaza at Israel, with 393 rockets launched. We hold no information on which group fired the rockets. Rocket attacks wreak havoc on the daily lives of Israelis and make achieving peace more difficult. We call on all parties to refrain from violence and to commit to a negotiated solution to end the conflict.
