There are already a number of exemptions from the Benefit Cap including for those who are receiving many disability benefits as well as Carer’s Allowance. In addition, support is available via Discretionary Housing Payments to support those whose specific circumstances make it harder for them to move into work. We are undertaking an evaluation of the cap and we will consider the findings in due course.
