Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, if he will take steps to ensure that the Deliberate Release Directive continues to be enacted after the UK leaves the EU.

The requirements of Directive 2001/18/EC on the deliberate release into the environment of genetically modified organisms will continue to apply in the UK after we leave the EU by virtue of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.
