Data on Disability Living Allowance (DLA) claims after August 2022 cannot be shared as the information is intended for publication at a future date. The department does not make any indication of the statistics public ahead of release.

The table below provides the data for awards of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) in the most recent five full years, by date of registration, where claimants had previously been in receipt of PIP or DLA prior to making a new PIP registration.

Notes:

  • Data covers England and Wales only;
  • This is data from initial decisions only and does not include mandatory reconsiderations or appeals;
  • People registering on PIP may previously have been on both PIP and DLA, and so would be counted twice in these figures;
  • DLA data is only available from May 2002; and
  • Figures have been rounded to the nearest 100.
