Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what recent assessment his Department has made of the adequacy of the balance between sustainability and productivity in UK farming.

Investment in productivity improvements should go hand in hand with improved environmental outcomes. We have published an Agriculture Bill that will allow farmers to continue providing a supply of healthy, home grown produce made to high environmental and animal welfare standards.
