Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what recent assessment his Department has made of the adequacy of the register of People with significant control to tackle money laundering.

The Government has a statutory obligation to review the operation of the People with Significant Control register in 2019. This review will consider statistics on the operation of the register and evidence from the main users (law enforcement, obliged entities and civil society) and from the companies that supply the information.
