House coal emits 9.14 grams of PM2.5 emissions per tonne of fuel consumed, compared to 7.58 grams per tonne of seasoned wood and 1.84 grams per tonne of smokeless coal. 3.3 kilotonnes of PM2.5 emissions were produced by burning house coal in the UK in 2016.
