There are three hospital sites that own onsite clinical waste incineration facilities, Addenbrookes, Plymouth, and Wolverhampton.

National Health Service Trusts have their own contracts for waste removal. In 2017 the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs found that there was over 30,000 tonnes of spare operational clinical and hazardous waste capacity.
