Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, when he plans to update the Maritime 2050 strategy; and if he will make a statement.

Maritime 2050 will set the Government’s long term strategy for the UK maritime sector. A clear path for the future and a strong partnership between industry and government is crucial if we are to reach our full potential as a world maritime leader. Detailed discussions with industry and other stakeholders have informed the development of the strategy, which is due to be finalised by the end of this year, ready for launch shortly thereafter.
