I announced on 1 December 2022 that a new Disability Action Plan will be consulted on and published in 2023. The plan will set out the action the Government will take in 2023 and 2024 to improve disabled people’s lives.

The Government is planning to consult on the Disability Action Plan this summer and to publish the final plan once we have fully considered the consultation responses. This consultation in the summer will be an opportunity for everyone - disabled people, disabled people’s organisations, and other interested parties - to have their say on the Disability Action Plan.

The department continues to engage routinely with disabled people and their organisations, ensuring that our understanding of the barriers faced by disabled people is informed by disabled people’s lived experiences.
