Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, pursuant to the oral contribution by the Minister for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation to the hon Member for Kettering of 11 October 2018 on Student Loan Book: Sale, Official Report, column 286, if he will (a) publish the range of estimates for the expected proceeds of the sale and (b) place in the Library a copy of the information shared with the hon. Member for Kettering.

The government and its advisers are continuing to refine the range of estimates for the expected proceeds of the sale.

A report on the sale arrangements, and the extent to which they gave good value, will be placed in the House Libraries within three months of the date of the transfer arrangements.
