The UK strongly condemns all forms of hate speech and violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We have raised the increase in violence and hate speech with the government of the DRC at the highest levels, most recently, during my visit to DRC in March where I [Minister Mitchell] met with a number of Government officials, including DRC's Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Lutundula. We will continue to work with members of the international community to counter hate speech and incitement to violence in DRC.
