Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many (a) lethal firearms, (b) non-lethal firearms, (c) knives and (d) other offensive weapons were seized by all agencies and forces funded by her Department in each of the last five calendar years up to the end of 2022.
The Home Office does not centrally hold all of the information requested.
Information on offensive weapons and firearms seized by police forces through stop and search are collected and published annually on a financial-year basis.
These data are available in the Home Office’s ‘Police Powers and Procedures: Stop and search and arrests, England and Wales’ publication.
Comparable data are only available since the year ending March 2021.
