Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to the emergency authorisation for the use of the neonicotinoid thiamethoxam in January 2021, for what reason his Department did not include a mitigation measure to tackle the risk of guttation on following maize crops.

The mitigations built into the emergency authorisation to protect bees were considered sufficient to support the granting of the authorisation.
