The Government is providing more than £2 billion of funding this decade to decarbonise energy-intensive industries, through multiple schemes supporting carbon capture, hydrogen, and other industrial decarbonisation technologies. In the ‘Powering Up Britain’ plan, the Government announced an extension to the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF), increasing funding available through that scheme to £500m.
