There has not been any formal assessment of the cost and capability of the in-house electronic health records system in use in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust or the feasibility of replicating such a system across the National Health Service in England. The availability of electronic health records is a key element of providing digitally enabled services and we expect all trusts to implement such systems. It is a local decision on how best to achieve this, taking into account the digital systems already in place and the capacity and capability available to implement a solution.
