Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what discussions he has had with his counterpart in the US administration on the (a) murder of Jamal Khashoggi and (b) coordination of international responses to Saudi Arabia in relation to that murder.
The Foreign Secretary remains in close contact with international partners, including his counterparts in the US, France and Germany to discuss the case of Jamal Khashoggi. The Foreign Secretary has issued two joint statements alongside his G7 counterparts, including the US, on 17 and 23 October. He has also issued two joint statements with his French and German counterparts, on 14 and 21 October. The most recent G7 statement condemned the killing in the strongest possible terms and reiterated the need for a thorough, credible, transparent, and prompt investigation by Saudi Arabia, in full collaboration with the Turkish authorities.
