Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what information his Department holds on the presence of pathogens in contaminated blood products.

NHS Blood and Transplant is responsible for the collection of donated blood and the production of blood products for the National Health Service in England. Modern safety standards are rigorous, and our blood supply is now one of the safest in the world. A donation which falls short of our standards during testing will be discarded.
