Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment he has made of the potential merits of seizing the assets of private care companies found to have significant safeguarding failures.
This question was answered on 9th May 2023
No assessment has been made. The Care Quality Commission has a range of enforcement powers and can take action in line with its published enforcement policy against providers that are not meeting the fundamental standards of care.
