Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether she plans to take steps to negotiate deals with international counterparts to process asylum claims outside the UK.

We are committed to working closely with international partners to tackle the global migration crisis and disrupt the business model of criminal gangs who are putting lives at risk. However, we are unable to comment on discussions that may be being held with other countries. The ground-breaking Partnership between the UK and Rwanda is a model that could be replicated elsewhere, and we are always willing to work with partners around the world to tackle this joint challenge.
